Cliff Dwelling Alcove - Paint by Numbers Kit

A hollow of deep red sandstone curves overhead like a frozen wave, and tucked beneath it sit stacked stone towers and rooms glowing in ochre and amber. This ancient cliff dwelling is the heart of the scene. Its blocky masonry, small dark doorways and round kiva wall stand out sharply against the terracotta shadow of the overhang.

The late-day sun does most of the work here. It warms the alcove wall in burnt orange and gold, while a wide shelf of pale slickrock in cream and blush steps down through the foreground. Dusty green juniper and sage break up the warm palette, and a purple mesa fades into a sunset sky at the right edge. Each area blends gradually from one shade to the next, so you can practice soft transitions without tiny fiddly shapes.

Beginners will find the large, readable shapes easy to work with, and hobbyists will enjoy the challenge of the glowing rock. It also makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who loves the American Southwest and its national parks. Set up your paints and bring the canyon country sunset to your wall.
