Schmincke Oil Painting Cleaner

Schmincke Oil Painting Cleaner | Restorer

Schmincke Cleaner is used to gently remove surface dirt from completely dry oil paintings. The Restorer is a paste-like emulsion, colorless and containing wax. Apply the strong solvent to a small area with a soft, lint-free cloth, then gently rub to remove surface dirt. After cleaning an oil painting, treatment with turpentine or a turpentine substitute is recommended. Take care not to dissolve the top layers of paint during cleaning. Before use, remember to test the product in an area that is not directly visible. We recommend having a qualified restorer apply the solvent, especially when working on valuable paintings.
